Hi, I’m Amy Cole
A piano teacher with real-world performance experience — and a love for helping kids fall in love with music.
After years away from teaching, I’ve rediscovered how much joy it brings me. Music has been part of my life for decades — through theater, live bands, and solo performance — but teaching again has reminded me how magical those first musical moments can be.
There’s nothing quite like seeing a child light up when they realize they can make music. We turn stories into songs, pretend we’re animals with high and low sounds, make up our own melodies, and play guessing games with rhythm and pitch.
It’s imaginative, playful, and full of joy — the way learning music should be.
My Approach
Each week, students learn to:
Read music naturally
Play by ear and improvise
Understand rhythm and theory
Accompany songs and compose their own
